Stripo newsletter editor: help & FAQs

In this article we summarise all of the handy resources available for creating email campaigns and using the editor in Hivepass.

In this article:

πŸ“§ Stripo

We use Stripo as our email campaign editor in Hivepass. We chose this editor because it has a lot of functionality and flexibility.

If you are having trouble with the editor or designing your email layout you can find the Stripo help documentation here.

🎨 Editor help docs

We have put together some handy help docs to guide you through all aspects of setting up and editing the templates in Hivepass

  1. Newsletter editor - the essentials. This article details all of the settings in the admin app that will ensure your campaign sends correctly and elements such as social links are pre-filled with your organisation's information
  2. Newsletter content - part 1. Getting started. Adding images, formatting copy, adding links etc,.
  3. Newsletter content - part 2. Background colours and colour blocks, sponsor logos, image rollovers
  4. Newsletter - customisation. Adding merge tags and pre-header text.

Once you have customised the Hivepass template, this can be duplicated as many times are you like, so the set up steps above need only be completed once.

πŸͺ„Tip: It's a great idea to use a local file as a back-up for your newsletter text content i.e: Notes, Word, Notepad, Pages etc., in case of browser glitches.

πŸ”₯ Want more control?

If you want more control over the layout and your own template, Stripo have excellent guides outlining how to use all of the different elements of the editor:

  1. Stripes - the highest level layout elements in the editor, Stripes contain the below elements depending on the design
  2. Structures & containers - Each stripe can contain many structures. In turn, a structure can include up to 8 containers in a row.
  3. Blocks - these are specific content; images, text, buttons, dividers, video etc., that slot into the above containers.

If you are keen to fully customise a template for your organisation, there is a lot of information under the General Questions section of the Stripo guides. There is also an excellent introductory video if you wish to start from scratch (however, we have done that so you don't have to! πŸ˜‰)

🫣 Using a different tool

We worked hard to choose an editor that we feel functions well, but like all new systems, you may need a little guidance, so please utilise the advice above.

If you really don’t like the Stripo interface, you’re very welcome to use another email platform. We have a Mailchimp integration already, and if you prefer something else you can export your contacts from Hivepass as a CSV and import them into your chosen email tool.
