How waivers work for minors

Children with their own membership can now have their digital waiver signed by their parent or guardian.
  1. Ensure that under Settings-> Application Settings-> Admin App, 'Use Digital Waivers' is toggled ON.
  2. Save
  3. Next, you must set the 'Legal adult age' under Settings-> Organisation Settings and toggle on or off the options your organisation requires. Note: The Legal adult age is defaulted to 18.
  4. Save

The waiver will now need to be linked to any membership package your organisation requires members to agree to a waiver for. To link the waiver to a membership package:
  1. Go to Settings -> Membership Packages
  2. Select the relevant membership package and select the 'Advanced' tab
  3. Select 'Has a mandatory Digital Waiver' and use the drop down menu to select the correct waiver
  4. Save

How this works for the user:
  1. When registering with your organisation under a Youth Membership Package that requires a signed waiver, the user will be asked to add their date of birth.

Note: The user must enter their birthdate accurately to trigger the parent/guardian waiver process.

  2. They will then be asked to enter the details of the person signing the waiver on their behalf:
  • Email address
  • First and last name
  • Relationship to them

  1. At this stage, the parent or guardian can select the 'I am the parent/guardian' button (on the device currently being used) and agree to the waiver immediately by checking the details at the bottom of the waiver page and selecting 'I agree to the terms and conditions'. After this the user will be taken to the details/payment page.

  2. OR selecting 'Send waiver to parent/guardian' will automatically email the waiver to the email address provided.

Note: The users membership will NOT be activated until this waiver is agreed to. Their app screen will look like this:

What the parent or guardian needs to do next:
  1. The parent or guardian will receive an email asking them to agree to the digital waiver on behalf of.
  2. Selecting 'View Waiver' will bring up the details entered by the user in the app. These details can be updated at this stage if necessary.
  3. Select 'Next' to review the full waiver terms and conditions.
  4. Select 'I agree to the Terms & Conditions' to digitally agree to the waiver.
Once these stages are complete, the members app will automatically refresh to showing an Active membership.

Handy hint: In the Admin app, on the Members list page, any member who has agreed to a waiver will have a green icon under the 'Attributes' column. Hover over the icon and you will be able to see the date the waiver was agreed to. Outstanding Waiver requests can also be viewed.
