Change a members membership type
It is now possible to change membership types from single to family. The user can do this themselves in the app or the admin can make the change in the admin app.
- It is possible to change from single to single but not accept any payment difference e.g. from child to adult
Recommended process for admin
Change from single to single WITHOUT payment
- Go to the member page, select member > Main tab
- Change the membership type to the required single membership type using the drop down menu
- Adjust expiry date if necessary
- Click Save.
Change from single to family - Pro rata payment is automatically calculated (for Active Members)
- Go to the Members page and select the member you need to edit
- Select 'Change to Family Membership' at the right hand side above the payment information
- Select which family membership type is applicable (if there is more than one family membership type this box will appear)
- The membership change is calculated pro-rata, so check that the pro-rata information looks correct. E.g: If a 12 month individual membership costs $50 and the 12 month family membership costs $100 and the user paid that same day, they will get 6 months worth of membership for the amount they have already paid
- Select 'Change' if everything looks correct
- Family members can now be added here into the Empty spaces, or the Primary family member can add them on their device
- Notify the user of the changes made if applicable. The membership type and expiry date on their digital card screen will automatically update.
Note: For inactive members, their membership type can be changed using the drop down menu in the Main tab of their Member profile.
Process for the user via the app
Converting a single membership into a family membership in the app:
- Open Hivepass app and go to the menu > Membership Options
- Select 'Change to Family Membership'. This will open a pop up detailing the new expiry date based on a pro-rata calculation. If this is correct, select 'Change'
- Add your family members and give them the unique code to use to log into their own device if they have one.
- Save and Finish
Note: If the membership type you have converted to requires a waiver, and you have added minors to the family, you will be required to agree to the waiver before the membership will become active.
Note: It is not possible to change from a single membership to a group membership at this time.
