Restricted access memberships
Your organisation can offer discounted memberships to users if they belong to other organisations.
This can be useful in a number of ways;
- Be a helpful driver for membership uptake, for example, if your organisation is adjacent to or affiliated with a larger club in your region, a discounted rate can be appealing
- Be a limited time offer
- Only apply to a specific membership type - such as a short term or 'trial' membership.
A NEW membership type must be created first to offer as the discounted one. To set up, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > Membership settings and select the membership type you wish to be the discounted one. i.e: Individual
- Under the Advanced tab, go to the last option on the right hand side 'restrict access to these organisations' and use the drop down menu to select the relevant organisation. In the example below, only users that already have a membership with NZ Speeder Club will be able to access this membership type in the mobile app.
- Ensure that the membership type is set up with all the other features you want to be available
- Save
Note: An existing membership type cannot be discounted, because active members of your organisation are registered under that membership type and would therefore be affected by the restricted access requirements at the time of renewal.
A new membership type must be created, and this is especially useful if this membership is designed to be a trial or short term type that you may only offer for a limited period.
How this will work for the user:
- NOT a member of the required organisation: When a user logs into Hivepass on their device and selects the membership type you can offer discounted, they will be presented with a pop up notifying them that they will need to be a member of the other organisation to access this membership type
- The user can easily go to the side menu > Join other organisations and complete registration to the required organisation
- Once the user has registered with the other required organisation, they can proceed to payment as normal
- IS a member member of the required organisation: When they select the discounted membership, they will see a congratulations pop up
- They then proceed with payment as normal
