Free membership packages / promo code activated memberships

How to set up Promo Codes in the admin app:

1. Go to Settings -> Promo Codes
2. Enter your promo code of 4-8 characters. The code is not case-sensitive. 
3. Add a description if necessary i.e: if related to a specific event or membership type
4. Add a Membership Expiry Date if applicable
5. Add a Promo Code Expiry Date i.e: the code may only last a week
6. Click 'Add Promo Code'

🎥  Creating a Promo Code

Set the Membership Package to require a Promo Code:

This is an optional feature for free packages and promo codes will work for ALL Membership Packages.

1. Go to Settings -> Membership Settings 
2. Select the Membership Package the promo code will be used with. The 'Is Free' box must be selected to enable the next step. 

3. Click 'Show Advanced Settings' and select 'This membership package requires a promo code'

   In this list, you can also limit the deal access i.e: a free membership may not have access to all deals

4. Remember to toggle on 'Show Promo Code Entry for Member' under Settings -> Organisation Settings to allow a user to enter a code when they register using the mobile app. 

🎥  Ensuring the Membership Package is set up to require a Promo Code

Activating the member once they have registered and requested activation:

1. The Promo code can now be given to any applicable member to use when registering. Once they have entered the Promo Code, they will see a pop up asking them to 'Request membership' and await activation. 

2. In the admin app, go to 'Membership Requests' and select 'Activate Membership'. The members mobile app screen will turn to green and the app will now be fully functional for the user.

   In the Membership Requests menu, you can also choose to 'Reject Request'. The user will reman unpaid and their app screen will be red. They will remain logged in, but the message will change from 'waiting to be activated' to 'Register Now'

3. Once activated, this will automatically remove the member from the Membership Requests list. Here you will see a blue tick to indicate that their membership was activated with a promo code and an administrator symbol to indicate 'Paid on Admin'.

Note:

• Promo codes can easily be shared and potentially abused - use them carefully
• Promo codes do not expire unless an expiry date is set
• Promo codes can be deactivated / deleted by admin at any time.
