Fixed and rolling memberships

In basic terms:

A Fixed Membership has a set renewal date each year. e.g: A membership will renew on a pre-determined date each year, regardless of when the member signed up.

A Rolling Membership has a 12 month period (or another specified length) from the date that the member signs up.

Whilst both of these models have their advantages, Hivepass recommends rolling memberships and 95% of the organisations on the platform use this model.

Read the full article here for detailed pros and cons to decide on the right approach for your organisation.

When setting up your membership packages, the default term is 12 months unless you specify otherwise.

If you want a membership package to be fixed and expire on a specific date, set this up by;

  1. Go to Settings -> Membership Settings and select or create the relevant membership package
  2. Under the Advanced tab, select the 'Is fixed expiry' option and enter the day and month for expiry.
  3. Save
