Setting up member email communications

Hivepass automatically sends a sequence of emails and push notifications to members in the following situations:

Expired membership - when a membership has expired

Incomplete Registration - when a user has registered but not become a paid member

NOTE: We refer to these Message Sequences as 'MS'

The MS of up to 7 messages can be configured to your requirements under

Settings > Message Settings > Edit Expiry MS / Edit Incomplete Registration MS.

Follow these instructional videos to learn more about how to set up the MS effectively.

Message sequence reminder emails

The user will receive and email with a button in it which they can click to complete/renew their membership.

Depending on the data we have about the user e.g. saved payment method, membership type this will either take them directly to payment via the web or to the mobile app.

If we have a saved payment method and a membership type the user can renew with 2 clicks using the "Quick Renew" button. For free memberships only 1 click is required.

Here are some examples of what the emails look like:

Quick Renew

  • Two clicks only to renew
  • Takes renewing user to web payment screen

Quick renew for free

  • One click only to renew
  • Takes user to renew success web page

Quick Pay

  • For incomplete memberships
  • Takes user to payment web page to capture payment details
  • Only 2 clicks if user has already entered payment details

Complete registration

  • For incomplete memberships
  • Takes user to mobile app to complete registration

Follow button

  • All emails also have a "Follow Only" button which allows users to set themselves as followers
  • Followers no longer receive reminders to renew/complete registration
  • Followers still receive other updates
  • Follower are users that would like to stay up to date with your organisation but don't want to become members at this stage
