Branded app - advanced QR codes
Specific Membership Types
Please note: This is for branded app (QMTBC, NMTBC, Trails) QR Codes. Do not read this if you use the Hivepass app.
It is possible to make QR codes that take a user to a specific membership type.
This will skip the step where they select the membership type.
Create a specific membership type QR code
- Go to Resources > QR Codes - QR Codes (Branded Apps)
- Select “New QR Code”.
- Select “Registration for Specific Membership”.
- Follow the steps in Basic branded app QR codes - Create your first QR code
Hidden Membership Types
Hidden membership packages (under advanced settings on the membership type page) are not visible by users when selecting a membership type.
These can be accessed by a QR code or QR code link. Follow the steps in specific membership types above to create a QR code for one of these.
Locations
It is possible to create locations and associate them with a QR code.
This can help to see where users are scanning the QR codes.
You will need to make a QR code for each location.
Create a location and associate it to a QR code
- To create a location go to Locations.
- Click “New Location”.
Enter the location details and click “Save”. You can copy and paste the latitude and longitude from the url on Google Maps.
- Go to the QR code page for the QR code you want to add a location.
- Select the location in the “Location” drop down.
- Click “Save”.
QR code error correction
Unlike the Hivepass QR codes the branded app QR codes are set to a medium level of error correction so they can be scanned even with up to 15% of the QR obscured. This includes the image on the QR code as the image is obscuring some of the QR code. The Hivepass QR codes have 30% error correction.
