Configure stripe emails to members

In order to allow your users to be able to update their card details you will need to change some settings in Stripe. We would do this for you automatically but unfortunately Stripe will not allow this.

⚙️ Stripe settings

You will need to add a url in Stripe that will allow users to change their card details.

It is: https://member.hivepass.app/account?ts=yourslug

Remember to change "yourslug" to your organisations slug. You can find this here.

e.g. https://member.hivepass.app/account?ts=biketaupo

  1. Go to the Stripe dashboard.  
  2. Open Settings (small cog icon at top right of dashboard)
  3. Billing > Subscriptions and Emails

The settings you need to edit are under Email notifications and customer management

Step 1: Customer emails

  1. Toggle on the switches in the image below;

    Send emails about upcoming renewals

    Send emails about expiring cards

    Send emails when card payments fail

  2. Click on the eye icon to preview the email the user will receive. There is also the option to send a test email to yourself

Step 2: Payment method updates

  1. Select 'Use your own custom link'
  2. Enter your custom url e.g. https://member.hivepass.app/account?ts=yourslug

Step 3: Subscription management

  1. Toggle on Include a link for customers to manage their own subscriptions
  2. Select 'Use your own custom link'
  3. Enter your custom url

When the settings are all updated, don't forget to select Save at the bottom of the section.
