Password Reset Options
đ Occasionally, a user may have trouble resetting their password for their account, or they may not receive a password reset link as some email clients may block these emails.
There are a couple of ways in Hivepass Admin to help a user get back into their account.
To do this;
- Go to Community> Contacts
- Select the relevant member by searching for their email or name at the top of the page
- In their member profile, select the Reset Password button at the top right which will give you three options
- Option 1: âSend Email Reset Link to Memberâ will send an email to the member, which wonât be useful in this particular context.
- Option 2: âGenerate Password reset linkâ - this generates a link that is copied to your clipboard. It can then be messaged to the user, or sent to an alternative email address. Following the link will allow them to reset their password through a browser and then log in to Hivepass, still using the email address registered with Hivepass (that was blocking the regular password reset emails).
- Option 3: âSet Passwordâ - if the above option is not suitable, you can set a new password for the user that they can use to access Hivepass. Once this has been emailed to them and they are logged in, they can then change it to something they prefer by accessing their profile from the side menu in the app.
Here is how the user changes or updates their password within the app:
- Log in to app
- Go to side menu > My profile
- Select Change Password at bottom of screen
- Enter your New Password and then Confirm New Password
- Select the Update Password button
- It's good practice at this point to log out and then back in again to check that your new password works and allow your device to remember it for you if you wish.
